Welcome! I’m Chris Lott MA, LMHCA.
Something within you has led you here—an inner voice, perhaps, or a deep knowing that transformation is possible. Maybe you feel anxious, overwhelmed, caught in old patterns, or simply asking “What’s next?” Whatever is present, it is my honor to meet you where you are, as you are, with compassion and curiosity.
As a somatic psychotherapist and expressive arts therapist, I work with individuals, couples, and groups through experiential, research-informed approaches that support anxiety, trauma, identity exploration, and relational or creative blocks. I am especially passionate about helping clients cultivate a more compassionate relationship with themselves so they can move forward with clarity and ease.
My practice honors the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. I draw on modalities including EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Hakomi somatic therapy, mindfulness-based practices, Gestalt, and expressive arts. A specialization in Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy through the Beckley Academy informs my work with non-ordinary states of consciousness, where I support clients in accessing deeper layers of healing and insight.
Music remains a living thread in my practice. I facilitate group work at Syzygy Psychotherapy Collective using collaborative music-making as a path to self-discovery. I also incorporate Raga singing—a devotional, meditative tradition of Indian classical music—into therapy as a way of attuning to subtle emotion, breath, and nervous system regulation. These practices often open pathways into flow, trance, and expanded awareness.
My background includes over five years as a music and arts specialist in therapeutic education, where I supported neurodivergent clients and those on the autism spectrum with care and respect for diverse ways of being. Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked as a touring musician and recording artist. Today, I bring that creative spirit into the therapy room with a grounded, intuitive presence that honors each person’s unique process.
I believe all of us are already whole, and that therapy is a way of remembering. My intention is to create a space where you can safely reconnect with your truth, rediscover your voice, and step into your life with greater freedom and trust.
